Blog 2 _ Weak one
As the first mile of my tour was the daily commute to work it seemed a strange start. Lizzy, my daughter joined me for the first hour and once up Spittlegate Hill we bowled along on the (very) strong East wind. I reached my target Milton Keynes some 85 miles later but my knee didn’t. The next morning brought rain to add to the wind and with a moaning knee I opted for the train to Portsmouth where I invested in some serious surgical support. I sailed for St Malo on Saturday where it was raining even harder. I’ve glimpsed most of Brittany through the drizzle staring out of barns or shelters.
Since then I’ve had sunstroke as well as more wind and rain now covered some 700K and the knee is holding up. I’m currently in Saintes just south of La Rochelle and turning inland to the Dordogne. Land is very flat here so progress is quick but that will change soon
